AQUATICS

Our patients include ornamental fish from both freshwater and marine aquaria, as well as pond fish such as koi and goldfish. We also provide veterinary care for aquatic invertebrates, including shrimp and other crustaceans, as well as echinoderms and corals.

Diseases in fish and aquatic invertebrates are often closely associated with husbandry, water quality, nutrition, stocking density, and environmental conditions. Changes in behaviour, appetite, or external appearance may indicate underlying health problems but are frequently recognised only at an advanced stage. Thorough diagnostic investigations and a comprehensive assessment of the aquatic environment are therefore essential for successful treatment.

Our practice provides veterinary care specifically tailored to fish and aquatic invertebrates, ranging from clinical examinations and advanced diagnostic testing to professional advice on water quality, husbandry, and the management of aquarium and pond systems. A particular area of expertise is the health assessment of animal collections and the evaluation of complex aquatic systems.

When required, we also provide on-site veterinary visits, performing clinical investigations, water quality assessments, and health evaluations directly at aquaria, ponds, and other aquatic facilities.

Our goal is to deliver specialised, evidence-based, and sustainable veterinary care for ornamental fish and aquatic invertebrates while taking full account of their unique biological and environmental requirements.
